Good poems put a person on the right path. For those who are fond of poetry, poems are also like a companion. If there are poems about love, love, they lead a person to destruction.

 

After the advent of Islam, Arabic poetry had to change its path somewhat. Since there is no room for idolatry, drunkenness and obscenity in Islam, these topics were completely ignored by Muslim poets. That is why the poets of that time were accused that their poetry became weak because there were many restrictions imposed on them, without which the beauty of poetry remains.

The Qur'an gave a challenge to the poets and writers of that time. Those who were fond of their poetry were stunned after listening to the literature of the Qur'an. Some believed it to be a miracle and became his devotee and some started writing poetry against it. Not only the Qur'an but also the Prophet of Islam was targeted and thus Arabic poetry entered the conflict between religions.

 

Among the poets of this era are Abdullah bin Rawaha, Ka'b bin Zuhair, Hatiya and Hasan bin Thabit, who are also known as Makhizrami because half of their life was spent in Jahiliyyah and half in Islam. The poets who wrote poetry in both the era of Jahiliyya and the era of Islam were called Makhizrami.

 

Court poetry flourished during the Umayyad period. Farzadaq, Jarir and Akhtal are three such poets who took satirical poetry to its peak. It will not be wrong to say that satirical poetry was at the height it was at that time and never got such a height again. Satirical poetry was very popular among the masses. The satirical antagonism between Jarir and Farzadaq is very famous and is a whole chapter in Arabic poetry.
