Hazrat Syed
Nafis Al Hussaini Shah was born in 1933 in Ghoriyala district of Sialkot. His
real name was Anwar Hussain, but he was known as Nafis Al Hussaini Shah in the
Islamic world. In 1947, he came to Faizalabad to his uncle Fazil Deoband Hazrat
Maulana Syed Muhammad Aslam and then he got his education till FA in
Faisalabad.
Although the art of calligraphy was inherited
by him, he formally started the art of calligraphy in 1948 during his studies.
He acquired the art of calligraphy from his father "Syed-ul-Qalam"
Syed Muhammad Ashraf Ali, who was an expert in "Nashq" calligraphy
and had expertise and fame in the calligraphy of the Holy Quran. In the
historical library of Hazrat Syed Nafis Al-Husseini Shah, besides thousands of
other rare and rare books, there is also a rare copy of the complete Quran
written by the hand of his father, Syed Muhammad Ashraf Ali, who used to visit
his library with great interest to scholars and scholars.
In 1952, he brought to Lahore and established
his office in the late Agha Shorush Kashmiri's Chatan building in McLeod Road.
"Dewan-i Ghalib" is the most famous among the books that he wrote
completely.
Hazrat Syed Nafis Al-Husseini Shah also had
the privilege of writing calligraphy on one of the doors of Masjid Al-Haram in
Makkah, which is a memorable and masterpiece of calligraphy art.
